Buff Orpingtons

They are a heavy breed and are large and stately with a quite disposition. Their heavy plumage allows them to be excellent layers through the cold months laying brown eggs.

They are excellent setters and mothers. They are also plump and clean tasting for the table. Our chickens have layed a tremendous amount of eggs this winter even during the coldest days. This has allowed me to give the pigs extra protein this winter, the dogs have also enjoyed fresh eggs in thier diet. 

 

Cochins

These chickens are quite large and heavy feathered they are still young hatched out on March 9th, we wll add pictures a bit later this summer.   

 

Mille Fleur

These birds are striking in every way. They have classic lines and are very sweet and kind, they are also wonderful setters and calm in the barnyard. These little chickens never stray far from the barn and are just wonderful. 

 

Broadbreasted Bronze Turkey

These magnificent stately birds are also gentle and get along with everyone in the barnyard.  They can grow up to 40 lbs for a tom and 25 lbs for a hen.  The hens are wonderful mothers and they have to come watch whatever it is that we are doing on the farm. This spring they are giving us lots of eggs for the incubator, check back for news on chicks in about a month or so.

 

Bourbon Red Turkey

This spring in April we will be adding 15 new turkeys to the farm,
